Obituary.
We regret to record the sudden demise of Rowland Caldwell, of Nelson, half-brother to John White, Esq, M.P.P. Deceased was ill but a few hours from Erysipolas in the head, when effusion on the brain took place and he expired about midnight on Saturday last. Of a kind and genial disposition, Mr. Caldwell was a universal favorite, as well from his rectitude of principle, as suavity of manner. His loss will be deeply felt by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He was followed to his last resting place at the Presbyterian Burying ground near Boyne, by an immense cortege, and his Masonic friends performed the last sad rites on their departed brother, who during life had been a bright example of their peculiar tenets. That he may rise from the tomb of transgression to shine as a star forever, and that he may obtain an entrance into the Grand Lodge above, where the world's great Architect lives and reigns forever more is the sincere wish of his bereft brethren. So mote it be.
